Kayova River Lodge is a true haven for bird lovers. In this raw African oasis, you can observe hundreds of remarkable bird species that have made the Kavango area their home.

Birding is a popular activity in the region, where you can view over 412 species across the floodplains and in the wooded areas of the Okavango River. In the Kavango area you can find the white-faced scops-owl, the shy Sousa’s Shrike, Shelley’s sunbird, the Peregrine falcon, the African goshawk and black sparrowhawk. Look out for flycatchers, firefinches, barbets, woodpeckers, weavers and sunbirds - all abundant at Kayova.
